Workshop on Gandhiji at KU from Feb 19

Warangal: The Gandhian Studies Centre of Kakatiya University is organising one-week workshop on ‘Gandhiji and his contributions to Indian Society’ It will be conducted from February 19 to 24 from 2 to 5 pm in the History Department. The Director of the Centre Prof K Vijaya Babu said eminent professors and scholars from universities and research centres from across the country will deliver lectures.

They will speak on topics related to Gandhiji, his life and career; early movements; his views on Indian tradition and culture; British Raj; Hindu-Muslim Unity; Communal Harmony; Education System; Gram Swaraj; Caste System, Women Empowerment; Civil Rights and Duties and his last days. The workshop is open to all, Prof Babu said and appealed the students, research scholars, teachers and all the citizens in the city shall to attend the workshop in large numbers and make it a success.

The University Registrar Prof K Purushotham will inaugurate the workshop on February 19 at 2 pm in the Seminar Hall of history department on the campus. On the first day, the Director of Gandhian Studies Centre, Osmania University Prof Naidu Ashok and veteran Gandhian Prof S Parmaji will speak.
