Warangal: Hanamkonda the youth in both urban and rural areas to make use of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and acquire livelihood skills. She said the flagship scheme being implemented by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) aims to train nearly 10 lakh rural youth, both men and women every year in the country. The training centres which were located in urban areas in the past, were now being established in rural areas as well to train unemployed youth.

Padma attended the valedictory of a tailoring training at Mallikamba Manovikas Kendram here on Wednesday, where young women were trained by Kakati Centre for Skill Development. She distributed certificates to nearly 150 women who completed training.

Speaking on the occasion, she said expert trainers were being engaged to train the youth in both soft and life skills. Those completed training were being provided loans under Mudra Yojana and other schemes to start small scale enterprises. Under the PMKVY, the National Skill Development Mission was consolidating and coordinating skilling efforts to achieve skilling at speed and standards. It aims creating convergence across sectors and states in terms of skill training activities to achieve the PM Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Skilled India’, she noted.

An entrepreneurship development scheme was being developed with focus on encouraging women entrepreneurs. A Regional Vocational Training Institute (RVTI) of Hyderabad was also coming up in the State capital, Padma informed.

Kakatiya University Law College retired Prof Padma, Kakatiya Centre for Skill Development organisers T Nikhil, K Kalyan, Deepthi, Kavitha, Spoorthi and others were present.
