'Amma Hastham' launched across Warangal district

Warangal: Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy's prestigious scheme ' Amma Hastam' was officially launched across the district on Wednesday. While Union Minister of State for Social Justice P Balram Naik launched 'Amma Hastham' at Nallebelli mandal headquarters, Government Chief Whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy launched the programme at Mogullapalli mandal headquarters in Bhupalpalli Assembly segment. Reports also came in from Narsimhulapet mandal headquarters in Mahbubabad Assembly segment, where MLA Malothu Kavitha launched the programme, while ITDA Project Officer Sarfaraz Ahmed inaugurated the programme at Eturunagaram in the district. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Balram Naik said the Government set a record in launching the several schemes and programmes for the welfare of SC and ST communities. Be it SC-ST sub-plan or Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu it was the Congress Governments at state and Centre taking oppressed sections along with the mainstream of the population, he added. He said that Kanthanapalli project would fulfil the needs of drinking water and irrigation sector in the Mulugu, Narsampet and Mahbubabad Assembly segments. He disclosed that SC and STs above the age of 60 years of would be given old-age pensions. Speaking on the occasion, Joint Collector P S Pradyumna said that the inflation would not impact the lives of the poor people with the launch of the Amma Hastham programme. He said that 9 types of food items were given at very economical price of Rs 185 which would save at least Rs 100 rupees of the beneficiaries. About 2,000 beneficiaries were given the subsidized food items under Amma Hatham Nallebelli and other parts of the district on the opening day.Next Story
