steelWarangal: Telangana Rashtra Samithi politburo member and Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao has demanded the State Government to give a firm assurance on setting up steel plant at Bayyaram in Khammam district. He said that the government and the ministers are in a state of utter confusion over the issue. Hence the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy should express his stand clearly to set up steel plant in Khammam to make of use rich iron deposits. He strongly hit at the Congress ministers from both Telangana and Seemandhra regions for their statements and counter-statements over the issue. "Being in the ruling party and being a part of single Cabinet the ministers and MLAs are making are making conflicting statements", he said. Chief whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy's version differs with PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana while minister Ghanta Srinivisa Rao comments were condemned by his cabinet colleague D Srdhar Babu over Bayyaram mining issue. B Saraiah, P Balaram Naik and chief whip Ramana Reddy of the district have to bring pressure on Chief Minister to make an official statement immediately. The TRS leader asserted that there was no question of allowing the government to divert the iron deposits for the use of VSP. "The party will fight until the state government cancels the order allocating the iron ore mines to VSP", he added. Referring to minister Srinivasa Rao's remarks wherein he warned of preventing supply of KG basin gas to thermal power plants in Telangana, Harish Rao said the gas was not produced on Seemandhra soil. "The gas is produced in Bay of Bengal and hence belongs to all" he explained.
