Warangal: Union Minister for Science and Technology S Jaipal Reddy had sanctioned Rs 30 crore for Kakatiya University for taking up the research and various other developmental works, announced Union Minister of State Porika Balram Naik. Added to this, Balram announced Rs 10 more crore to KU from his quota of funds for building adequate infrastructure to benefit the students. Balram Naik was addressing a meeting after inaugurating science exhibition called INSPIRE at Trivi High School located at Hunter Road in Hanamkonda on Saturday. Emphasising the role of teachers in moulding the students, he said that students should be encouraged in creative and innovative thinking so that they can excel in making working models and exhibits.

Recalling the father of constitution BR Ambedkar’s words that Indians would lead world in every field in future, he said that India accounts for highest number of world software professionals. Hundreds of other Indians were excelling in the field of science and technology, he added.

Students should be inculcated with the habit of questioning why, what, where and how by their teachers so that sky is the limit for innovation by the students, said District Collector G Kishan. Warangal West MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar said that country’s progress is linked to more innovations in the scientific field. He asked all government schools be provided with better science labs and libraries. DRO Madhu, DEO Vijay Kumar, Deputy DEO Vasanthi, Prof K Laxma Reddy, St Peter’s Edu School secretary N Narayana Reddy, Trivi Principal Linga Reddy, Keshava Rao, Bhupal Rao and others participated in the inauguration programme.
