Warangal: Serious opposition was being expressed here against the proposed ‘Samaikhyandhra Mahasabha’ on September 7 in Hyderabad by APNGOs in support of united Andhra Pradesh. The leaders of different Telangana outfits and JACs here on Thursday warned that a ‘Million March’ with 10 lakh people would be held to counter APNGOs meeting in Hyderabad. A meeting in this connection was held here under the aegis of Lambadi Hakkula Porata Samithi (LHPS).
Speaking at the meeting the leaders demanded the APNGOs to withdraw the public meeting in Hyderabad as it would instigate sentiments between Telangana and Semandhra people. At a time when the statehood was about to become a reality efforts to stop it were not proper.
People’s organizations convener K Venkata Narayana, TJAC district chairman T Papi Reddy, Telangana Democratic Teachers Federation leader B Yadagiri, Telangana MRPS leader B Bikshapathi Madiga, LHPS leader Jai Singh Rathod, Telangana Nagara Bheri P Uday Singh Naik and others demanded the government not to accord permission for APNGOs meeting.
The speakers alleged that capitalist forces in Seemandhra were trying to suppress ‘Jai Andhra’ movement being taken up by weaker sections and SC/ST and Minority communities. False cases were being booking against Jai Andhra activists who were demanding separate Andhra state.
The capitalist forces were restraining the freedom of expression of SC/ST, BC and Minority communities in Seemandhra. For the past 60 years they were ruled by feudal minded leaders and now they being prevented from seeking separate Andhra.
The leaders at the meeting decided to support the cause of ‘Jai Andhra’ and those fighting for the cause. They have demanded the UPA government to table Telangana bill forthwith as statehood issue has not moved any forward even though one-month had passed after CWC decision on 30 July. The speakers expressed doubts about the u-turn by Congress high command as it happened in December, 2009.
Telangana people were worried whether the bill would be introduced in the parliament or not, they said. The leaders appealed to the public to turn up in large numbers for the ‘peace rallies’ to be held on September 4 by the TJAC. Telangana activists like Soma Ramamurthy, N Chandramouli, Pulluri Sudhakar, A Lakshmi Narayana and others spoke.
