Planning on starting Yoga? Here are some quick tips to get you started and sorted with your yoga attire. Just like any other sport activity, the right workout gear makes a huge difference and Yoga is no exception. Yoga attire should be comfortable but that shouldn’t mean loose. If your clothes are too loose, then they may come in the way, while doing the asanas. At the same time, ensure to wear tops that are not too tight, as you may feel uneasy. Low necklines are a complete no, as it may to revealing and distracting.

Choose hip length, semi-fitted tops that stay put and keep you covered no matter what stretches you do. Most importantly, don't forget to invest in a well fitted, sports bra that provides adequate support to your bustline. For the lower body, you can opt for either leggings, shorts or trackpants depending upon your personal choice. If shorts are more your style, then make sure these are fitted like cycling shorts & if you prefer trackpants, then they should not be too loose. For the men, it's best to opt for a semi-fitted t-shirt with a pair of shorts or trackpants.

While buying yoga clothing, pay special attention towards the fabric. It should have sufficient amount ofstretchability, hence lycra alongwith cotton is the best option. Cotton absorbs the sweat well and lycra provides the stretch. Even synthetic spandex is fine so long, as they have inbuilt dri-fit. Also, keep in mind that the fabric is of reasonably thick material, it shouldn't be too thin, else it magnifies the body flaws and bulges.

Best way to start would be with minimum pieces of a branded attire. Though they cost more, but they also last longer. You can do some research on clothing from lessor known brands to further build up your workout wardrobe. Both men and women, must avoid any kind of buttons and zippers or keep it to a minimum, as they can be quite pokey.

For better maintenance of your yoga wear, wash them a milder detergent and cold water. This way, your clothes will last longer. You can also wash it inside out to delay the fading of darker or brighter clothing.
