Apple May Announce Four 5G iPhones in 2020
It is believed that the 5G iPhone models will support both mmWave and sub-6GHz bands
A lot of information is being reported about the iPhones to be launched next year, even before Apple announced the launch date of its 2019 iPhones. Next year's iPhones were flaunted to be more interesting than this year's lineup.
In this case, 9to5Mac cites a report from Apple analyst Dan Ives at Wedbush. Ives says that the Cupertino-based tech giant will be launching four new flagship iPhone models next year. Each of these iPhones is said to support 5G connectivity. The handsets are also said to feature a rear 3D-sensing system, and "motion control." This hasn't been explained in detail, so we need to wait and watch what more comes to light concerning 2020 iPhones.
In July, renowned analyst and Apple 'tipster,' Ming Chi-Kuo had also reportedly shared information on 5G-enabled iPhones. Kuo says Apple will launch three iPhones next year with 5G connectivity. Kuo in a note said that all three iPhone models would support high-speed 5G cellular data. Kuo, as per the 9to5Mac report, "believes that the 5G iPhone models will support both mmWave and sub-6GHz bands." What this will do is that it will allow the "iPhone to interoperate well with the 5G cell towers installed across the United States."
Earlier this week Kuo has claimed that the successor of the iPhone SE is coming in the first half of 2020. It is mentioned in the latest research note shared by the Macrumors that Apple may sell 10% more iPhones in H1 2020 because of the 'iPhone SE 2' and the already strong placement of the new Apple iPhone 11.
Kuo said in the note, "We expect that combined iPhone shipments in 1Q20 will grow around 10% YoY thanks to the iPhone 11's replacement demand boosted by more affordable prices and iPhone SE2's shipments starting in 1Q20. We estimate that iPhone shipment in 1Q20 will be 45–50mn units (iPhone 11 Pro series and iPhone 11 to be 13–15 and 22–24mn units, respectively), which is better than around 42mn units of iPhone shipments in 1Q19 (iPhone XS series and iPhone XR to be around 12 and 14mn units, respectively)."
