The two siblings - Poloju Venu Madhav (13) and Varun Teja (11) - who had gone for swimming in a farm pond drowned, according to the police.
Unaware of the depth of the farm pond, the duo along with their friends went to play in the waters and drowned. Even though the other boys raised an alarm, it was too late for the locals to save them.
The police fished out the bodies with the help of expert swimmers in the evening. Venu Madhav and Varun, residents of Dilsukhnagar in Hyderabad, came to their relative's house along with their parents Somaiah and Lakshmi to spend Dasara vacation.
