Nagarkurnool: Expressing her concern over the poor nutritional health of children below five years and pregnant women in Nagarkurnool district, Prajwala, the District Child and Women Welfare officer gave a call to each and every individual to take the responsibility of improving the health of infant children and pregnant women.

Speaking at the training programme of resources persons in the Women and Child Welfare Department at Palem Agriculture University meeting hall, the district welfare officer gave a call to the resource persons to ensure that each and every child in the Angawadi centres and pregnant women registered at the centers improve their nutritional health.

"As part of the 'Poshan Abhiyaan' we have decided to improve the nutritional health of children below five years and pregnant women registered at all the Anganwadi centres in the district. For this, we are giving further training to the Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs), health supervisors and other healthcare staff. After the training, they will be allocated each sector where they will provide training to Anganwadi workers," said Prajwala.

Later, she gave tips to the trainee staff as to how to train Anganwadi workers so that they in turn can provide better healthcare services to children and pregnant women.

Sainath Reddy, Immunisation officer of Nagarkurnool and other senior officials from woman, child and family welfare took part in the programme.
