Passenger traffic has surged at Hyderabad’s bus stations as schools in Telangana begin their Dussehra holidays on Saturday. Large numbers of travellers are arriving at the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) and Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) to travel to their hometowns.

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (RTC) will operate 7,000 special buses across the state from today until the 18th of this month to manage increased demand during the consecutive holidays.

Women will continue to travel free on ‘Mahalakshmi’ buses, as usual.

The RTC has also arranged services for the return journey, with additional buses planned from the 20th to the 26th of this month. The corporation is preparing to provide the necessary services to help passengers travel back without difficulty.
