Chief Electoral Officer files complaint against fake messages
State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Dr Rajat Kumar on Thursday lodged a complaint with the Cyber Crimes wing of Hyderabad police on defamatory WhatsApp forwards against him.
Hyderabad: State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Dr Rajat Kumar on Thursday lodged a complaint with the Cyber Crimes wing of Hyderabad police on defamatory WhatsApp forwards against him.
He stated in the complaint that a completely fake and defamatory post was going viral on WhatsApp that the government had given him 15.25 acres as a token of gift for favouring them in the elections.
A copy of the said WhatsApp message was also enclosed by him to the police.
The CEO further said that he had purchased the agriculture land at Hemajipur village in Balanagar Mandal in Mahbubnagar district duly registering with the Sub-Registrar during 2013-2014 from different agriculturists with the permission of the State and also enclosed the copies of government memo.
