Jayashankar Bhupalpally: CPI Town Secretary Sothuku Praveen Kumar has urged the authorities to provide alternative business spaces and permanentshelters to small traders affected by road-widening works in Bhupalpally town. A CPI town committee delegation submitted a memorandum to Municipal Commissioner Uday Kumar, seeking immediate relief for the affected vendors.

Praveen Kumar said more than 200 trader families had been without livelihoods for the past month after voluntarily removing their shops to facilitate development works.

He said the situation had worsened during the Dasara and Deepavali festive season, leaving families struggling to meet daily expenses, repay loans and pay bank instalments. He urged the government to identify affected traders and provide alternative trading spaces without delay, stressing that their livelihoods should not be sacrificed in the name of development. District CPI leader NookalaChandramouli, Councillor VemulaJyothiSreekanth and other party leaders and traders participated.
