Khammam: CPI workers on Saturday staged dharna and rastaroko in Khammam and Kothagudem towns against hiking of petrol and diesel prices by the Union government.

Addressing the protesters, party leaders B Hemantha Rao and Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao alleged that the Union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is putting burden on common man by increasing petrol and diesel prices frequently.

Due to increasing of prices of diesel investment will be increased to farmers as diesel play vital role in agriculture sector they said.

They also said though crude oil prices are reducing internationally but the Modi government has increased prices 12 times in this month which is ridiculous.

They demanded the government to rollback the price hike or face agitations across the country in big way. They alleged that the Modi government is spreading sops on corporate people instead of providing minimum facilities to the common man.
