Telangana likely to get new Chief justice to the High Court as the Supreme Court collegium has decided to transfer current Chief Justice of HC Raghavendra Singh Chauhan.
Telangana likely to get new Chief justice to the High Court as the Supreme Court collegium has decided to transfer current Chief Justice of HC Raghavendra Singh Chauhan. He has been serving as CJ of Telangana high court since June 23, 2019. He has one more year service before the retirement.
Hima Kohli, CJ of Delhi high court is likely to be appointed as CJ of Telangana. If Hima Kohli will be transferred to Telangana, she will become the first woman Chief Justice of the state.
The Supreme Court collegium headed by the Chief Justice of India SA Bobde and including Justice NV Ramana will meet on Thursday to take a final decision of the transfers to CJs and a final list will be sent to the President of India Ramnath Kovind for his consent.
Along with Telangana, CJs of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha will also be transferred. Sikkim High Court Chief Justice Arup Kumar Goswami is likely to be the Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court while Justice Muralidhar will possibly take over as the Chief Justice of the Odisha High Court.
