The State Election Commision (SEC) has geared up for the vote counting on May 23. Around 14 centres have been set up across Hyderabad for counting which takes place from 8 am.

"Postal ballots will be counted for the first 30 minutes and around 1000 staff were kept ready including backup," said an official from district election authority, Hyderabad.

11 IAS officers from different states appointed by the EC will monitor the counting process. Apart from three-tier security at the counting centres, one officer of Assistant Commisoner of Police (ACP) and city security wing will be deployed.
