Flour-laden lorry catches fire in road accident in Kodad
The incident took place on NH-65 in Kodad when a lorry laden with limestone hit the lorry laden with flour on its rear side.
Kodad (Suryapet): A lorry caught fire in a road accident that took place on national highway-65 at Kodad on Wednesday early morning. According to sources, the accident took place when a lorry hit another lorry on its rear side. The lorry that caught fire was loaded with flour packets, while the other was carrying limestone.
The check post staff made all efforts to extinguish the flames with fire extinguishers, but in vain. Though the incident took place at 3.30 am, the fire tenders reached the spot at 5 am leaving the vehicle in flames for more than an hour.
Meanwhile, vehicles got stranded for over kilometers length on the national highway due to traffic jam caused by the accident. The traffic was cleared after the lorries were shifted from the spot with cranes.
Kodad Rural CI Dasharatha said negligent driving was reason for the accident.
