Ganesh immersion preps inspected

Wanaparthy: District collector Adarsh Surabhi visited the Nallacheruvu tank bund and inspected arrangements made for the immersion of Vinayaka idols. Noting that many idols are expected for immersion during the day up to Thursday, he instructed officials to complete preparations with advance planning to ensure the public faces no inconvenience.

He directed officials to focus specifically on security, traffic control, barricading, lighting, parking, drinking water, sanitation, and medical facilities at the immersion site; to take measures to ensure devotees can safely reach the immersion site and return.

Surabhi ordered officials to implement pre-emptive security measures to prevent any untoward incident at the tankbund during the immersion and to set up barricades where necessary.

He advised taking precautions to prevent people from entering water at the site; heavy cranes be used for immersion. The collector directed that personnel and equipment be kept ready for an immediate response to any emergency.

The DC appealed to people and organisers to cooperate with officials and help ensure peaceful immersion.
