Hyderabad: The Ayush department's reported moves to introduce geotagging method from September first to keep a tab on employees' attendance, is not only drawing criticism from doctors and staff within Ayush but also from doctors from other wings in the health department.

Opposing the move doctors are saying that they heard of geotagging being carried on animals in the forests to get a count of them and also on vehicles, but this is the first time that such an exercise is being carried on government employees.

They have appealed to the senior officials to look into this issue as providing their phone access to others would lead to loss of privacy of individuals. Alternatively, biometric and CCTVs options could be explored if government wants to check the attendance of doctors and other staff.
