Jangaon: A 61-year-old man was mowed down by a goods train while crossing the railway track at Jangaon railway station on Monday morning.

The deceased has been identified as K Anjaiah, a native of Ganugupahad village under Jangaon mandal.

According to the railway police, Anjaiah came under the wheels while he was trying to roll underneath a goods train to cross the track.

The goods train was static when Anjaiah tried to cross the track, but the train started to move after he got underneath of it.

Even though he tried to escape, it was too late for him. He died on spot. The police shifted the body to the Area Hospital Mortuary for postmortem.
