Hyderabad: Despite government allowing clinics to operate, many city doctors are still reluctant to start seeing patients. The doctors are still reeling under fear of getting infected with the deadly coronavirus as the city is still a hot spot for Covid-19 pandemic. "Though some clinics have started operations but still a significant number of doctors are reluctant to open their clinics," informed Dr M A Mateen, General Physician. He further said doctors were waiting for the culmination of Ramzan which has still four days to complete."

"With Hyderabad still a hot spot for Covid-19 due to cases being registered every day, it is not easy for us to operate, especially in Old City. where people seldom maintain any precautions while approaching the doctors for health checkup. We need to be very cautious and take all precautions while diagnosing patients," said Dr Rasheed Ahmed, BUMS, MD, a practitioner in Old City.

"Many patients who need regular consultancy sighed a relief as the government eased down lockdown guidelines which would pave way for reopening health care services at their doors steps," asserted Kamalakar Jitender, a social activist.
