After a city man tested positive for the coronavirus, most of the people preferring to stay indoors following which the roads wearing a deserted look especially Begum Bazar.

The market which usually crowded with the people has seen a decline in the sales after the coronavirus outbreak in the city. Begum Bazar is a place where people can get all the things at cheaper rates and is always being crowded. However, the market now wore a deserted look even ahead of the Holi festival. Though the shops were stocked up with colours and other toys for the Holi festival, no public was seen on the streets. Misinformation about the coronavirus in the city being shared on the Whatsapp has also ensued to the decline in sales.

The state High Court also issued advisories to prevent mass gatherings for Holi. Even the people are scared to go to the gatherings and crowded places due to the COVID-19 being spread.

A retailer said that they have imported the colours from Mumbai paying double the price and have stopped imports from China. But still, no one is coming forward to buy the colours, he added.
