Hyderabad: On the lines of the newly-launched Dharani portal under which the agricultural land registrations were taken up, the Government of Telangana State has decided to evolve a new system to the registration of non-farm land and other properties soon.
To bring the new mechanism into force at a fast pace, the government has constituted a Cabinet Sub-Committee headed by Roads and Buildings Minister V Prashanth Reddy. The sub- committee would interact with all sections regarding finalizing the guidelines on non-agriculture lands, property registration, address the issues raised by realtors and construction agencies in the registration of properties in the towns and cities, particularly in Greater Hyderabad.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday held a review meeting on registration of non-agricultural lands and properties. The CM expressed satisfaction that the farmers were happy to get the land registered through the Dharani portal after clearing the initial hurdles. He wanted a similar process for the registration of the non-agricultural lands and properties.
KCR asserted the non-agricultural lands and properties registration system should not create any problem for the fast growing real estate sector and it should help further growth of the sector. He wanted the process to be transparent in such a way that there should be no scope to seek or give bribes and no officer should have any discretionary rights to take any decision.
The CM asked the sub -committee consisting of Municipal Administration and IT Minister K T Rama Rao, Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Home Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali and Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav, to hold talks with builders, real sector representatives and other related sectors and take the opinion before finalizing the policy.
He also asked the committee members to study the problems in the cities and towns and prepare a report on how to solve them so that a comprehensive policy can be prepared. The committee was asked to submit a report at the earliest to finalise the new policy for non-agricultural lands and property registrations.
"The poor have constructed their houses without any proper documents. They are paying electricity bills, property tax and water tax. Problems are cropping up when such properties are purchased or sold. There must be a solution to such problems," the CM said.
