Hyderabad: First day of Inter exams held without any hitches

Hyderabad: A day after the first-year intermediate examination held on Wednesday, the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) has issued a list of precautions against the backdrop of health alerts given on account of coronavirus cases in the State.

State Special Chief Secretary (Education) Chitra Ramachandran in a circular, issued on Wednesday evening, asked the Chief Superintendents of Examination Centres to take suitable steps to prevent spreading of infection.

Accordingly, the Chief Superintendents were asked to permit students to write exams with facemask, if they want to wear one during examinations. 'Permit students to enter the examination halls and sit in their allocated place without allowing big groups to congregate and wait for the opening of the gates. All tables, chairs, door handles and electrical switchboards etc must be cleaned with a wet cloth dipped in disinfectant every morning before the start of exams.

Liquid soap and water should be provided at appropriate locations near the exam halls for the use of students coming for the examinations. Students appearing to the examinations can carry a water bottle of their own. The water bottle has to be kept outside the exam hall and should be used whenever required. If any invigilator is found with cough or cold, they will be placed on reserve immediately and should be replaced with another.

In case if a student is found with cough, cold or fever, they should be made to sit in a different room and allowed to write the exam. All chief superintendents, staff and officers engaged were asked to observe restraint and act in a composed manner and shall not create a scare by overreacting on the precautions. Further, any other steps which can help prevent infection to be taken, she added.
