Karimnagar: Following TPCC call, local leaders and activists led by District Congress Committee (DCC) held a rally from Telangana Chowk to the Collectorate and staged a dharna in Karimnagar on Friday.

They raised slogans against the Central and State governments and later submitted a representation to District Revenue Officer Praveenya at the collectorate.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) gave a call to lay siege to the Collectorates in all the districts in protest against the Central and State governments for adopting anti-people policies.

Speaking on the occasion, former Congress MP Ponnam Prabhakar criticised both the Central and State governments for adopting anti-people polices across the nation and in the State.

He said that due to the new economic systems that are being implemented across the country and the State, economic crisis occurred because of which people are facing lot of hardships.

Prabhakar demanded both the governments to take immediate steps and start economic reforms by taking suggestions and advises from experts in the field and try to withstand in terms of economy.

Congress leaders M Sathyam, B Sriram, Chakravarthy, K Satyanarayana, K Narendar Reddy, Anjan Kumar, Martuthi Rao, P Sathyam and Nagi Shekar were present along with others.
