Khammam: Protesting the arrest of Congress leaders, MLAs and MPs in Hyderabad, district Congress leaders and activists burnt an effigy of the TRS government here on Thursday.

District Congress Committee President Puvvala Durga Prasad condemned the arrests of CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, senior leaders, MLAs and MPs in Hyderabad. He alleged that the TRS government had failed to provide welfare fruits to the people and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has no idea on irrigation projects and on Pothireddipadu issue. Durga Prasad demanded to convene an all-party meeting to discuss irrigation issues in the State. The TRS government had failed to conduct Covid-19 tests to people across the State, he pointed out. Later, party leaders staged one-hour protest and raised anti-government slogans.

Party leaders MD Javeed, MD Tajuddin, P Veerabhadram, Y Santosh, Y Srinivas, P Nageswara Rao, Y Uday Kumar, Mallaiah, SD Fareed, Shankar Naik, Narasimha Rao and others participated in the protest.
