Komatireddy demands funds for local bodies in Yadadri- Bhongir

Yadadri- Bhongir: Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy stated that the Congress party has launched a people's agitations against the TRS government from Yadadri-Bhongir district. The MP participated in a protest demonstration by the Congress party district unit over weakening of local bodies in the State, at Zilla Parishad in Bhongir on Friday.

Addressing the gathering, he said protest demanding sanctioning of funds to local bodies has just begun and it will intensify further with lakhs of people joining, then only the eyes of blind State government will open. He warned to lay seize to Pragathi Bhavan if the government does not do justice to local bodies as per the wish of people of rural areas. He called upon the people and party cadre to question the TRS leaders about the stalled development and also demand for funds to local bodies.

He informed that irrigation and RWS officials could not answer his questions on water supply in ZP meeting held at Siddipet. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has ruined the villages and diverted funds for construction of Pragathi Bhavan for his comforts.

Police arrested MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and DCC president Kumbam Anil Kumar Reddy and shifted them to local police station. Police faced stiff resistance from party workers during the arrest of the leaders and a scuffle took place between police and protestors at the time of arrest.
