MLA flags illegal cccupation of government lands in Kadam
Khanapur: Khanapur MLA Vedma Bojju Patel has demanded strict action against those allegedly encroaching on government-assigned, tribal and irrigation department lands in Kadam mandal and converting them into private commercial establishments.
At a review meeting at the Mandal Parishad office in Khanapur, Nirmal district, Patel presented evidence of alleged encroachments to District Collector Bhavesh Mishra, Joint Collector Rathod Ramesh, RDO Devidas and officials from revenue, irrigation, forest and municipal departments.
The MLA alleged that resort lands, Maisampet lands and Bellalu Kurru lands had been illegally occupied and used for private businesses. He questioned why officials had failed to act against those allegedly running a government resort without investment, despite electricity dues of Rs 1.6 lakh and land tax arrears exceeding Rs 3 lakh.
Patel also said revenue records showed only 76 acres in Khanapur town against the claimed 110 acres. He suggested correcting technical errors and using surplus land to provide housing plots to the poor through Indiramma Towers. Collector Mishra announced a six-member committee to inquire into the alleged encroachments and assured strict action and recovery of government lands.
