Karimnagar: Congress Legislature Party leader Bhatti Vikramarka on Saturday said that the facilities available at the Karimnagar Government Hospital are not even bare minimum.

Bhatti visited the hospital along with TPCC working president Ponnam Prabhakar, MLC T Jeevan Reddy, former Minister and Manthini MLA D Sridhar Babu and DCC president Katakam Mruthyunajayam.

Bhatti took a round of the hospital and examined the facilities available in the hospital. He enquired about the health of patients. Later he said, "there are not even bed sheets on the beds which were set up by the previous governments. The hospital staff is giving treatment to the patients in the temporary folding beds due to lack of sufficient beds in the hospital."

"Many poor people are suffering from viral fevers from the past few days, but there are no proper arrangements of medicines to treat them," he added. Commenting on staff shortage in the 500-bed hospital, he said, the staff which is present in the hospital is not even sufficient for the 250-bed hospital.

He also raised objection on male doctors attending the woman patients. "Instead of giving treatment to women patients by the lady doctors, men health officials are attending them," he lamented.

It is sad that the Health Minister Etela Rajendar who hails from the Karimnagar district, the medical facilities in the hospital is in a worse condition, he alleged.

Due to lack of proper supervision, lack of sanitation in the villages and insufficient staff, several diseases are spreading at an alarming rate in the district, he said and demanded the government to provide all required facilities along with appointing the staff immediately.
