NTPC-Ramagundam organises GEM workshop
Aimed at empowering the girls from government schools of nearby villages, a four-week long residential Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) programme organised from Thursday at NTPC-Ramagundam.
Ramagundam: Aimed at empowering the girls from government schools of nearby villages, a four-week long residential Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) programme organised from Thursday at NTPC-Ramagundam.
A CSR initiative of NTPC, the GEM workshop includes providing lodging and boarding to these girls at township besides helping them in learning different social issues and extracurricular activities.
120 girl students, who have passed fifth class and joining sixth class in the current academic year, from Government Schools of nearby villages have registered their names.
Resource persons from M/s Aware Group, Hyderabad (nodal agency for the GEM programme at NTPC-Ramagundam) will provide training to the girls in Maths, English, Telugu, EVS (Environmental Science), computer, quiz, essay writing, civic literacy, awareness of gender diversity issues, civic literacy (on good touch, bad touch through video clips), effective communication, empathy, positive attitude, interpersonal relationship, life skills creativity, mental wellbeing, basic hygiene, skills presentation, sports, dance, music, group activity, self-defence, cyber safety, movie screening, yoga, leadership quality, field visit, general knowledge, newspapers & TV, mobile phone.
