One arrested for selling banned cigarettes in Hyderabad

Task force sleuths of the Central Zone raided a godown at Begum Bazar and nabbed one accused named Ran Singh (48), who was illegally procuring banned cigarettes of 18 different brands and seized 3,776 boxes worth Rs 7 lakh and a mobile phone from him.
Hyderabad: Task force sleuths of the Central Zone raided a godown at Begum Bazar and nabbed one accused named Ran Singh (48), who was illegally procuring banned cigarettes of 18 different brands and seized 3,776 boxes worth Rs 7 lakh and a mobile phone from him.
According to officials, accused is running a gift articles shop styled as "RJ Novelties" and fraudulently procuring banned foreign cigarettes to avoid customs duty and GST which is causing wrongful loss to government.
The material is being received from Delhi, UP and Kolkata via railway transport. The banned foreign cigarettes suspected to be coming from Bangladesh via Kolkata on train.
