Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan on Monday advised all the State universities to promote the research culture in the campuses. She said that the State universities should be reincarnated into centres of excellence in research and students also need to be encouraged to present papers at the national and international seminars.

The paper presentation data of the students also need to be documented. Interacting with officials of the Palamuru University and Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University through two separate video conferences, Tamilisai stated that post-Covid situation has necessitated the creation of massive online resources for the benefit of the students. She also stressed upon the digitalisation of library resources to offer remote learning services to the students.

Referring to the functioning of the alumni associations of the universities, she stated that there is every need for strengthening alumni associations, so that it can actively participate in the developmental activities of the university. The universities need to give more focus to the creation of job-oriented courses and ensure better placements to the students after the completion of the courses. Nurturing, mentoring and imparting skill-based training to the students are vital for their employment opportunities; the Governor added.
