Hyderabad: The Health Department of Telangana State is getting ready to give Covid vaccine to frontline warriors. Nearly 1.6 crore vaccine doses are being readied for this purpose and administering process is set to commence from January second week.
Elaborating on the details, Director of Public Health Dr G Srinivasa Rao said that they have identified 80 lakh persons from four departments for administering vaccine doses, including health, police and sanitation staff. He said that the selected individual would be given two doses in a gap of 21 days. The vaccine once given will work for 9 to 12 months, the director said.
Dr Srinivas Rao said that vaccine would be given free of cost. He further stated that they are also planning to give a vaccine to people suffering from chronic ailments.
