TGSRTC Plans Special Buses to Sabarimala during pilgrim season
The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) will run special contract-carriage buses for devotees travelling to Sabarimala during the pilgrimage season. The services will operate in two phases: from 16 November to 27 December for the Mandala Puja period, and from 30 December to 20 January for the Makaravilakku and Makarajyothi festivals.
Guruswamis booking a bus will be entitled to free travel on it. Those booking additional buses will also receive an incentive of Rs 350 per day for each extra bus. Each bus will provide free travel for two cooks, two children under 10 and one luggage attendant.
The Kerala government has exempted TGSRTC contract-carriage buses from border tax, reducing costs for pilgrims. The service dates and concessions are reported for the 2026–27 pilgrimage season.
For advance bookings and information, devotees can contact TGSRTC on 040-69440000 or 040-23450033.
