Begumpet: TRS supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is all set to sound the bugle for by-election to the Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly Constituency on February 10, as the ruling party is organising a public meeting in Halia which is one of the biggest towns in the poll-bound assembly segment. At the public meeting, the CM is likely to announce a slew of sops to the Sagar constituency.

As part of the half-day visit to the old Nalgonda district, the TRS chief would address the public meeting to be attended by all senior leaders, ministers, MLAs and MLCs of the district. Before attending the meeting, KCR would lay a foundation for the Nellikallu lift irrigation scheme being taken up at the cost of Rs 3,000 crore and other lift schemes in the district to fetch the irrigation needs of Devarakonda, Sagar, Munugodu , Kodad and Mahbubnagar assembly constituencies.

Leaders said that KCR has taken a serious note of the by-elections as the TRS suffered a jolt in the Dubbaka by election and the recently held GHMC polls.

"The CM did not conduct any poll campaign in Dubbaka and Greater Hyderabad and this time KCR would prepare the poll strategy and monitor personally the poll campaign," said the party leaders adding that a special team was already constituted to look after the local party affairs during the poll campaign.
