TRS to discuss parliament strategy at June 19 meet
TRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao would decide on the strategy to be adopted in Parliament at the party executive committee meeting to be held on June 19.
Hyderabad: TRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao would decide on the strategy to be adopted in Parliament at the party executive committee meeting to be held on June 19.
The TRS state executive committee meeting is being held after a gap of three and half months and the party leaders said that many issues such as party performance in the Lok Sabha elections, TRS plenary and other issues would come up for discussion at the meeting.
The TRS was supportive to the NDA government on many occasions during the previous tenure but during the elections, the Pink party president made all-out attack against Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeting him in the public meetings and also worked for the Federal Front of non-Congress and non-BJP parties. The TRS chief has already made his stand clear on the support to the Centre.
However, the party leaders said that the TRS would be giving issue-based support to the NDA government like which it did during the last tenure.
"The relation of TRS with the Centre is like that of the state government and Central government. We will be meeting Narendra Modi as Prime Minister of India and we will be raising our demands with the Centre," said a senior TRS leader.
The TRS leader opined that there would not be any sour relations because the elections are over now, and development will be the focus. The TRS leader said that there are issues such as increasing reservations to Muslims and STs, delay in starting the AIIMS, etc.
The party leaders would also discuss on strengthening of the organisation by taking up the membership. The party leaders would be given targets for enrolling members into the party and also providing them insurance cover.
The party leaders would also discuss holding of the plenary which is due since April. However, this time there was no plenary till now because of the Lok Sabha elections.
Along with these, the TRS chief would be taking stock of the performance of the party in the recent elections, including good performance in the recent local bodies. The Chief Minister would also discuss on his district tours as he had promised during the elections.
