Puttur: In a tragic incident, a retired employee has committed suicide by jumping from collage building over upset of not getting the retirement benefits. This incident happened in Puttur of Chittoor district on Wednesday.

Going into details, M Muniswamy a native of Chinnaraju Kuppam village had joined as an attender at SRS government degree college in Puttur on contract basis 30 years ago.

After 15 years of service, then principal recognized him as a permanent employee. Later, the auditor department officials have taken the decision against the rules. Since then, Muniswamy is meeting the officials and requesting them to make him a permanent employee.

While this was continuing, Muniswamy took retirement in 2015. With this, life has become a burden with the responsibilities, debts which were taken for the children's wedding. In order to come out of the debts, he is meeting the higher officials in Guntur and Kadapa for his retirement benefits for the last four years.

On Wednesday, he went to college over the information that the concerned officer is coming. As the officer didn't turn up, Muniswamy becomes upset and jumped off from the college building and committed suicide.

Over the information, the police reached the spot. The deceased relatives who heard the death news staged a protest that they will not move the body for post-mortem until justice is done.

DSP Muralidhar reached there and held talks with the family members. Later, the body was shifted to Puttur government hospital. The police registered a case and investigating further.
