Konaseema district police on Tuesday arrested 20 more persons in the arson incident, which took place on May 24 in Amalapuram.
Amalapuram : (Konaseema District) Konaseema district police on Tuesday arrested 20 more persons in the arson incident, which took place on May 24 in Amalapuram. District Superintendent of Police KSSV Subba Reddy said that the number of arrests rose to 199. He said that Eluru Range DIG G Pal Raju formed seven teams to identify the accused in the arson case. He also stated that after making a thorough investigation coupled with scientific evidence, they would arrest the persons. Some more arrests were made and they were sent to judicial custody, he added.
The SP exhorted youth and students not to fall in the trap of anti-social elements and not to ruin their bright career. He said that nobody should be spared, if involved in such incidents.
He also stated that they are keenly observing the happenings in the Amalapuram encircle area and are focusing on the activities of the anti-social elements.
SP Reddy appealed to the people to cooperate with the police department in restoring peace in the troubled area. He said that Section 144 and Section 30 are in force in the district.
