Amaravati: Minister for Civil Supplies Kodali Venkateswara Rao (Nani) condemned the campaign in some section of media over the raids on gambling dens in his constituency.

Speaking to media persons at the CM camp office here on Monday, the Minister said that there is no need for him to earn money on gambling. He said the TDP leaders have a history of running gambling dens.

The Minister added that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the officials to act tough on gambling including online gambling in the State. As part of the instructions, the State Enforcement Bureau officials raided at some places in Gudivada constituency and arrested those who resorted to gambling.

The Minister said that the YSRCP government acting tough on gambling and as part of it the officials are conducting raids at several places. The SEB officials conducted raids at several fish tanks near Budameru which is border area of Krishna and West Godavari district and arrested the gamblers, seized vehicles and cash.

He said that there was no truth in the campaign launched by some section of media that he was summoned by the Chief Minister regarding raids on gambling dens in his constituency. He said that he met the CM to urge him to include Gudivada-Kankipadu road in NDB second phase.
