Andhra Pradesh: In a rude shock to the government of Andhra Pradesh, the High Court has cancelled the GO 623, which was given over the painting of colours to panchayat offices across the state. The High Court has asked for an explanation as to why the new GO had to be released and ordered the CS, Panchayat Raj department and election commissioner to give clarification by 28 of this month. The court ordered to start the contempt of court proceedings.

The High Court has objected to the party colours to the panchayat offices in the past. In this backdrop, the government issued the GO 623 on April 23 to paint the green, blue and white colours to government buildings.

The High Court hearing the petition challenging the GO has suspended it till 19 this month and the government has laid arguments on Wednesday. After hearing the arguments, the court reserved its verdict and expressed outrage over the government today.
