BJP membership touches 12-crore mark, claims Kanna Lakshminarayana
State BJP president Kanna Lakshminarayana has described the party' s membership touching 12 crore mark as a significant one.
Visakhapatnam: State BJP president Kanna Lakshminarayana has described the party' s membership touching 12 crore mark as a significant one. Addressing media here on Thursday, he said the BJP emerged as the largest party in the world with such a huge membership.
Terming the response to the membership drive as overwhelming, he said the drive launched on July 6, would continue till August 11. Several leaders from other parties were keen on joining the BJP, he added.
Lashing out at the TDP, he said corruption was deep-rooted during its tenure and demanded the CBI probe into all the alleged scandals. He predicted the TDP would soon slip into oblivion.
On Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy' s friendship with his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhara Rao, the BJP state president said the BJP has no objection to it, but it should not be at the cost of State's interests. About Special Category Status issue, he alleged the regional parties were trying to get political mileage out of it.
