Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy held a review meeting with labour officials at the camp office on the welfare of the workers and the medical facilities they receive.
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy held a review meeting with labour officials at the camp office on the welfare of the workers and the medical facilities they receive. The meeting also addressed the issue of corruption in ESI hospitals. Meanwhile, the Officials told CM Jagan that cosmetics were also bought with the money used for drugs.
"Workers need to be transparent in purchasing medicines and should meet GMP standards and the ESI bills should be released from time to time, " CM directed the officials. He said that certain standards have already been set for the quality of medical services and that the standards should be maintained at all ESI hospitals.
CM said that each parliamentary constituency would have a teaching hospital along with a nursing college. "The number of teaching hospitals will be increased from 11 to 27, with which a large number of doctors would come from these colleges; these services should also be utilized in ESI hospitals, " CM Jagan told officials.
He also directed that the ESI hospitals be fully utilized in conjunction with the Medical Health Department and make proposals for improving the services of the hospital. He also called on the authorities to take stern action on pollution prevention.
CM Jagan told the authorities to protect the state from pollution. He said the pollution and the waste being dumped into the sea is not good for health as it causes severe damage to the environment. Officials have also been directed to look into the recruitment of vacant posts in the Labour Department.
On the other hand, the labour department officials complained to the CM about the stalling of payment of LIC insurance. CM Jagan assured that he would write to Prime Minister Modi over the payment of LIC dues.
