Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy accords top priority to the safety and security of children and women, said Tourism Minister M Srinivasa Rao.

At the inaugural of the Abhayam project on Monday, the Minister launched the project's poster along with the Commissioner of Police Manish Kumar Sinha, Municipal Commissioner G Srijana, District Collector V Vinay Chand and Deputy Transport Commissioner G C Raja Ratnam.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said tracking devices equipped with modern technology were installed in auto-rickshaws and other public transport vehicles.

Later, the Tourism Minister Srinivasa Rao flagged off a three-wheeler equipped with the IoT device.

The officials concerned along with the degree college students joined Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's videoconference held on the occasion from his Tadepalli camp office.

Women with smart phones were told to download the Abhayam mobile app through play store and register themselves. The Minister explained that when the passenger presses the panic button, the police Command Control Centre will receive an alert immediately and the vehicle can be tracked through the GPS-enabled system.
