Continue Telugu medium in schools: MLC Ramu Surya Rao
Demanding that the state government continue Telugu medium in schools, a roundtable was organised here on Tuesday.
Eluru: Demanding that the state government continue Telugu medium in schools, a roundtable was organised here on Tuesday. Speaking at the meeting organized jointly by SFI, UTF and JVV, MLC Ramu Surya Rao said that anywhere in the world the medium of instruction for school students was their mother tongue.
UTF leader Jayakar said that Dalit, Tribal and poor students would suffer a lot because of introducing English medium from next academic year. SFI district secretary K Anil warned the government of serious consequences if it changes the medium from Telugu to English.
JVV district secretary IV Sudhakar opined that the mental development of students would be affected because of denying them education in their mother tongue. CPM city secretary P Kishore and others also demanded that the government continue Telugu medium.
