Cops seize 50 lakh bank cash in East Godavari
The East Godavari police on Tuesday seized Rs 50 lakh cash at Gollaoprolu toll plaza. In addition to this, 3 kg gold was also seized at the sea check post. According to the sources, the cash was being brought in a car from, Karur Vysya Bank of Tuni branch to Peddapuam branch with valid documents.

When contacted on the cash seizure, Kakinada SDPO, Ravi Varma said that they seized the cash as per the guidelines and handed the same to the concerned election returning officer. The bankers can contact the concerned RO, the SDPO clarified.
East Godavari lead bank district manager [LDM] B V Subrahmanyaam said on Tuesday evening that this is the second incident of bank cash seizure on the day. Apart from cash seizure at Gollaprolu, the cash of Vijaya Bank was also seized near Ravulapalem in the district. In both the cases cash had been seized despite presenting valid documents to police the LDM said.
