Cybercrime cell formed in East Godavari
A five member cyber crime investigation team has been formed in East Godavari for effective check on cyber crimes.
Kakinada: A five member cyber crime investigation team has been formed in East Godavari for effective check on cyber crimes. According to district SP, Adanan Nayeem Asmi the team members who are under training will commence their duties on complains received on cybercrimes.
It may be mentioned that some fake callers posing as bank officials seeking details of accounts through phone particularly targeting senior citizens quoting modifications and change of pin numbers of ATM cards as reasons.
Once the details are disclosed without knowing that it is a fake call, they are losing amounts from their accounts within no time. Even the fake callers are targeting traders. To quote a case, a sweetmeat stall owner lost Rs 8,000 few days ago when a fake caller wants to purchase some sweets and wanted the account number and details of bank account as he wants to credit the amount to bank account.
As soon as the details were disclosed Rs 8,000 was withdrawn. State Bank of India regional manger D Raja Rammohan Rao in this connection made it clear the no official of any bank approach its account holders over phone and seek account details. The RM cautioned the account holders not to disclose their account details over phone to ant body as a precautionary measure.
