Dwaraka Tirumala: Endowments Minister Vellampalli Srinivas expressed serious concern over attempts to incite communal feelings by spreading rumours on non-Hindu campaign at Hindu temples by some vested interests.

He performed special pujas to Lord Venkateswara during his visit to Dwaraka Tirumala temple on Thursday. He participated in different development programmes on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, he said he was pained to see fake postings in social media that hurt sentiments of Hindus.

It was not wise to criticise Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy by restricting him to a particular religion. Several measures were taken at Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams to enable every common devotee to have darshan of Lord Venkateshwara in a better way. Ever since taking charge as the Chief Minister, he had taken several measures for the development of temples and wellbeing of priests.

However, some persons have been indulging in communal politics in the name of religion, he lamented. Such people should introspect on what they had been doing. It was stupid to incite Hindus by creating imaginary propaganda that Cross was set up on Tirumala hill and non-Hindu campaign going on at Annavaram temple.

All such trouble-mongers should keep in mind that the State government had allocated Rs 200 crore for development of temples. Earlier, the Minister released the New Year Calendar and wall poster of Maha Sudarsana Yagam to be performed from December 16 to 21.
