Edible oil pilferage goes unchecked
The NH 216 from Kathipudi to Payakaraopeta in neighbouring Visakha district bordering Tuni in East Godavari turned out as place for pilferage of edible oils.

With Kakinada port having the import facility of edible oils, the same will be transported to various destinations through tankers at an average of 300 plus tankers per day to destinations including Odisha, Chhattisgarh and MP states apart from North Andhra.
According to sources, some of the tanker drivers have been colluding with professional offenders and selling some quantity in the tanker. It is said that this process is being followed even during diesel and petrol transportation also.
When contacted, Peddapuram sub-division police officer in East Godavari Ch V Rama Rao said that they are acting on specific complaints.
