Hundreds of elephants return from the Bannerghatta forest every year to the Sanamavu forest near Hosur. Elephants destroy copper crops every time the rag crop arrives. Elephants are crossing the solar fence set up by forest officials and destroying crops.

A total of 12 elephants have been separated from a herd of 40 elephants from Karnataka. Farmers want forest officials to take action to drive the elephants to the Karnataka forest.
