Women farmers bow down to Kishan Reddy to centre's intevention to save Amaravati

The farmers protest against the trifurcation of the capital with the administration in Visakhapatnam, High Court in Kurnool and Assembly at Amaravati. The GN Rao Committee and Boston company had already submitted its reports to the chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy while the high power committee report is awaited, which will be given its report on January 26.

Meanwhile, the farmers from Amaravati have met the Union Home Minister G Kishan Reddy at his residence at Padma Nagar in Hyderabad to bring their concerns to his notice. Among the farmers, women farmers were accompanied to Kishan Reddy's house and begged him literally to take measures to retain the Amaravati as capital. The women who were emotional have bowed down and touched the minister's feet for justice. Kishan Reddy who consoled the farmers assured to support their cause.

However, it is quite interesting to seen how the union minister would deal with the situation as he had made comments on centre' role in the state's capital. The centre has nothing to do with the state's internal disputes and the State government has all rights to decide on the capital. While Kanna Laxmi Narayana and MP Sujana Chowdhary are speaking in favor of Amaravati and the other leader of BJP and Rajya Sabha MP GVL Narasimha Rao has made it clear that the capital issue is within the state.

It is learnt that the state government is likely to meet on January 8 to discuss the BCG committee recommendations.
